Slack has this new UX pattern which is, "Copy URI from somewhere, select text in Slack, paste URI, now it's a link." I don't know if Slack invented it but "paste to enlinken" is REALLY GOOD. (Don't make fun of my corporate communications style, I contain multitudes.)
