The Subway Diary: 13-Nov-97

Bad Apples Ruining My Day

My heroes up and went away,
Their faces robbed by Chiat Day.
The idols of a million slobs
Are shilling Macs for Steven Jobs.
Mahatma Gandhi, Einstein too,
A Hindu and a Jersey Jew,
So smart and good, so wise and brave,
Now hawk Apples from the grave.
At least they didn't morph and chop
The faces up with Photoshop:
"Oh, Einstein, yes, I've heard of him--
His hair could use a little trim."

"Earhart's look I just don't like:
Those awful goggles scream out 'DYKE!',
And Mahatma truly brings a frown;
Our demographic isn't brown."
Now that Chiat's gone too far,
Will Jesus sell us foreign cars?
And from the mouth of Moms Therese:
"Come on down and get a lease!"
They think to sell a Mac to me?
I advise: THINK DIFFERENT[ly].
