I went to a hectic Sears on Beverly and purchased a toaster. There might have been 1,000 people in the store. It's a well-appointed Sears with great stock and a huge parking lot. It caters to all kinds of people and their children. It just has a lot of hectic to it. This slightly uncertain sense, the sense that anything might happen--a fight, a collapsing escalator, a huge vertical column of flame, plates crashing, the televisions all tuned to something that has yet to happen, even though you are in a Sears looking for a toaster. What happens is you get a toaster. But what could have happened is amazing.
