It's now 14 days later and I'm going back, filling in meals in as rough a way as possible--just trying to get the ballpark numbers in--but if I let myself I can remember them very accurately. Clam chowder--no, turkey noodle soup, and they brought a small basket of bread with crackers and I ate all of it. Rowdy teens sat in one corner; an old lady in another. At the end I had cheesecake.
I wonder how far I could go back. "What did you eat for dinner on July 10?" Would it be possible for me to rebuild that meal without referring to this site?
Turns out I can't. I just checked. We went over to A&A's for dinner--seafood and pasta. Although I remember the meal well. As I get older my memory is going but by writing things down and reading them over I can refresh it. Interesting that meals are now basically like notecards, something to return to for observation. And that food is the organizing principle of my life. Which is better, I suppose, than gluttony being the organizing principle.
