So here's the thing about me that I've written many many times but always bears repeating: I love the web. I love it passionately, *weirdly* strongly. I think the web is the best thing humanity's ever done. And the obvious (to me) corollary of that love is that I want the web to be bigger and better, and that you can do the latter by just doing enough of the former. I want there to be More Websites. I want that deep in my soul.So if you show me something that makes it easier to make more websites, that thing is good, to me, and I am not particularly bothered whether you think it's good.I've had this fight over PHP, over WordPress, over JavaScript, over every web framework you can possibly name, now more recently over LLMs. They make it easier for more people to build websites, and that's my whole mission in life. And I do not care about your arbitrary definition of "quality". If we make more websites, that's already good. Some of them will be horrible, and some tiny percentage of them will be truly excellent. The way you get more excellent ones is by building lots of bad ones.So I welcome each and every person who wants to build a website using whatever tools they want. Welcome! You are a Real Web Developer. I anoint you. Get in here and start building, and we'll figure everything else out later. And the gatekeepers can bitch and moan and look down at you and try to tell you you're not cool or hardcore enough and I will fight all of them on your behalf for as long as it takes. You are welcome here.
