Why I Loved the Library
By Paul Ford
Heh.
I was taking summer classes. I went home after studying at the library. We lived a few blocks off campus. My roommate had a new girlfriend. They met through role-playing games. I opened the door. There they were. They didn't see me. They were occupied.
“Put your biscuits in my business!” she shouted.
“Coo! Woot!” said my roommate.
I will not describe the thing I saw. I closed the door quickly, not quickly enough to keep one of the feathers from falling on my shirt. I shook it off in disgust, and went straight back to the stacks, to the desks in the basement, trying to forget.
