Very simply, that's what the lawyer told us. I didn't exaggerate anything. The public defender had told us, in jail, that we would most likely be charged with summary offenses, but, at a meeting after we got out, a lawyer (I think from the ACLU), told us they were 2nd and 3rd degree misdemeanors (or was it 2nd and 1st? There was something else, that I wasn't charged with that was more serious and I don't remember which is which). It could be that we are ultimately let free without even so much as a fine, or we could be fined. It is unlikely that we will do any jail time (although it was unlikely that I would get $1000 bail). No artistic license taken!
