It's fun to rhyme with my friend Hesta Prynn

I skin an eggplant like no other.

Hesta Prynn, Guinea Love, and DJ Sprout are Northern State (their site is down, or I'd give you a link). I found their song “The Man's Dollar” in the illegal MP3 format. You may also be able to do this if you look around. The lyrics are awe-inspiring, delivered Beasties-style:

I'm Italian
Like my mother
I skin an eggplant
like no other.

Or...

When you see me comin' better run and duck.
I rhyme about nothing and I don't give a fuck.
Put other MCs in contempt of court,
Cause like Derek Jeter I'ma make you stop short,
Sprout on the prowl down center court,
Hesta Prynn on the roof with a chocolate torte,
See me, I'm just chillin' wearin my skort,
Yo, I wrote about the Bell Jar for my book report.

You saw it - skort in an old-school rap, right next to Bell Jar. It's a truly entertaining thing; I finally had to move the song off the computer's desktop so I would listen to something else. I think one of the group lives in Carroll Gardens. Which means I've walked past genius without knowing it.
